Covid-19 Statement: We are taking the covid-19 crisis very seriously right now and hope that everyone is healthy. Grin & Grow will stay open until we are recommended to close by the county health department. We do not know if or when this might happen but we will keep you as up to date as possible. We are advising parents to keep their children at home if they are not working and they can call the office (319-236-2063) with questions. As always, we are providing children with best practices in child care for virus protection. We are taking the extra step of checking temperatures when children arrive and we have implemented additional sanitizing throughout the day. We will let you know as soon as possible if anything changes.
Below is a list of the precautions we are taking to prevent the spread of the virus: 1. Classroom toys, shelves, floors, and furniture are cleaned daily. 2. Only children and staff are allowed in the building. Children's and Staff temperatures are taken before entering. Then hands are sanitized (children 3-5 years and adults). 3. Timers are set for every hour in the classrooms for hand-washing. (also done after toileting, before/after eating and being outside) 4. Practice social distancing by keeping classrooms to a limit of 10 persons (children and staff combined). 5. Cots for rest time are placed 6 feet apart and cots/bedding are not shared. 6. Laundry is done two times a week.
We seek to address the needs of parents in obtaining affordable, high quality, and safe child care. The W. 4th Street Center is licensed for 92 children. Our center provides year-round programming for infants at least 6 weeks old and preschool-aged children. Tuition aid is available through a sliding fee schedule subsidized by agency scholarship programs or through public funding sources. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
